There has been talk about a Family Guy movie for some time now, particularly after the release of The Simpsons Movie last year. Around that time, both Mila Kunis (voice of Meg Griffin) and Family Guy creator, Seth MacFarlane said that everyone involved in the show wants to do a Family Guy movie but it was a matter of finding time. Apparently The Simpsons Movie took 6 years to make!
The buzz around the movie has renewed with Seth MacFarlane recently saying in an Adam Coralla podcast via FilmDrunk that "with definitive assuredness" the movie will be out "within the next few years". He also said that "it will not be a 90-minute Family Guy episode", hinting some possible live action in the movie.
More assurance that plans for a Family Guy movie is officially moving ahead was given by Seth MacFarlane, who told Wired.com this week that "we’re finding time where we can. We’re in the early stages right now.”
Well it's good to know that Seth MacFarlane is finally getting a move on with the movie. I'll be waiting with bated breath.

Gutsy move as expectations will be high. I love to see the characters in other rolls like in "Peter's Progress". How about Family Guy: That's Entertainment. The Spooner St. gang in flashbacks into classic movie rolls. I can see Brian in a hat pulled down, dancing and singing in the rain, or Stewie at the wicked witch from The Wizard of OZ. A flaming queen that want's those rubby slippers because they're Manolo Blahniks. Who better for a Bob Hope flashback than Quagmire.
The writers at Family Guy are so good at injecting humor into historical references. I look forward to the movie.
